Reala Ace, a Fujifilm film simulation
Faithful color, negative-film gentleness: the new classic.
Reala Ace is the newest film simulation in the lineup, introduced with the GFX100 II and since brought to recent X-series bodies. It draws on Superia Reala, the negative film prized for rendering color the way the eye remembers it, and the simulation pairs that fidelity with a tone response softer than Provia's.
Think of it as accuracy without the slide-film edge: saturation is true rather than enhanced, highlights roll off with negative-film patience, and skin holds its hue across a wider range of light than any of the chrome looks. It shines wherever color must be right but the render shouldn't feel digital: travel, family, everyday documentation.
As the newest simulation its recipe catalog is still growing; early community recipes lean on its neutrality the way they use Provia, adding warmth and grain for an heirloom-negative feel.
