About Focal Click

Built by one person who loves this.

Lucas Costa, the maker of Focal Click

Lucas — engineer by trade, photographer at heart.

Hi — I'm Lucas Costa, a software engineer who loves photography. Focal Click is what happened when those two things collided.

It started as a private library — a place to keep my own RAW and JPEG pairs organized, and to remember which in-camera recipe made which shot. Fujifilm cameras write every processing decision into the photo itself: the film simulation, the grain, the white balance shift, all of it. Once I realized that data was sitting in every file, the library grew a recipe extractor. Then the extractor grew a catalog. Then friends wanted in — and the private library became a community.

The idea underneath it all is simple: the photograph should be finished when the shutter closes. No presets, no editing chair — the look is chosen before the shot, in camera, and every photo here carries the exact settings that made it. See a look you love, dial it into your own camera, and go shoot.

Focal Click is young and built in the open. The photographers here now are naming the recipes everyone else will discover, and the reference gallery is being rendered scene by scene on a real camera's processor — from photos the community contributes. If that sounds like your kind of place, you're early, and early is the best time to be here.
